PRIVACY POLICY

Your privacy

EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 26, 2026

Morsel teaches Morse code; it doesn’t need to know who you are. There is no account. Your progress stays on your iPhone. Analytics are off until you choose to share them. Usage events and purchase records use random IDs. You can switch analytics off or ask us to delete that data at any time. This policy covers the Morsel iPhone app, its widgets and controls, and this website.

WHO WE ARE

Morsel is made and operated by Twelve Ten, LLC (“Twelve Ten”, “we”, “us”), the controller of the information described here. For any question about this policy or your data, write to support@morseltrainer.com.

THE SHORT VERSION

  • No account, no sign-in, no email address needed.
  • Your lessons, scores, practice log, name and settings are stored only on your iPhone. Morsel does not sync through iCloud.
  • Reminders are local notifications, at most one a day. No notification server, no push token.
  • Analytics are off until you say yes. Morsel asks once, during setup, and nothing is sent before you answer. If you share, usage counts carry a random install ID and never include your name or anything you key or type. You can change your answer anytime in Settings › Privacy & data.
  • Apple handles payment. RevenueCat confirms Morsel Pro using a random ID. We never see card details.
  • No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no tracking across other companies’ apps or websites, and no selling of data.
  • Ask us to delete what was sent and we will, within 30 days.

WHAT STAYS ON YOUR iPhone

Your course progress, lesson results, sign statistics, practice log, milestones, settings and the first name you give during setup live only on your iPhone. Widgets and controls read a small copy of that information on the same device. Morsel does not use iCloud sync, so your progress is not copied to our servers or to Apple’s by Morsel. Nothing you key or type in Morsel leaves the device.

Settings › Privacy & data › Reset progress clears your active lessons, statistics and practice log and starts a new analytics ID. It keeps your name, settings, reminder preferences and purchase access. Morsel also keeps local recovery copies of progress, including the copy made before a reset, to protect against damaged files. Deleting the app removes its local files; offloading it keeps them. If you back up your iPhone with iCloud or a computer, Apple’s backup may include a copy, under your control and Apple’s terms.

NOTIFICATIONS

Every Morsel notification is a local notification, scheduled on your iPhone from your own progress and from the subscription facts the App Store reports, such as when a trial ends. There is no notification server and no push token. After Lesson 1, Morsel may offer a practice reminder and show a sample before you choose. Closing that offer or choosing Not now does not request iOS permission. Morsel requests permission only when you turn on a reminder, either from that offer, Settings, or the trial-reminder choice after a purchase. If you also choose to share analytics, usage events can include reminder choices, permission and scheduling outcomes, a broad time-of-day range, and which kind of notification you opened. They do not include the notification’s text or your exact reminder time.

  • At most one Morsel notification a day, and never a badge or a streak count.
  • A daily practice reminder at the time you choose, skipped on days you have already practiced.
  • On Sundays, after a week with practice, a short recap of the signs you added, in place of that day’s reminder.
  • If you haven’t opened Morsel for 14 days, one quiet note that it is ready when you are.
  • With the separate trial reminder on, one reminder before a free trial of Morsel Pro ends, timed so there is still time to cancel, using the end date the App Store provides.
  • If Apple can’t renew a subscription, Morsel may send a notice the day before Morsel Pro would pause.

In Settings › Reminders, turn off the daily reminder to stop practice reminders, recaps and the return note. The trial reminder has its own switch. A billing notice may still be scheduled if Apple reports a renewal problem and notification permission is on. To stop all Morsel notifications, use your iPhone’s Settings › Notifications › Morsel.

ANALYTICS

Only if you choose to share usage data, Morsel sends a small set of usage events to Mixpanel, our analytics provider, to help us see which lessons work and where learners get stuck. Each event carries a random ID created for this install of the app. Morsel does not add your name or Apple Account to these events. A random ID is still an identifier, not a guarantee of anonymity. If you email us your IDs for deletion, your request associates those IDs with your email address.

We ask Mixpanel not to derive a location from your connection, and Morsel does not use Mixpanel’s automatic data collection, people profiles or session replay. Mixpanel stores analytics data in the United States.

Your choice, asked once. Wherever you are, analytics start off. During setup Morsel asks whether to share usage data, with two equal answers, Share usage and Don’t share; if you installed Morsel before this question existed, it asks once on the main screen instead, and closing that question keeps sharing off. Nothing is recorded or sent before you answer, and nothing is sent if you decline. Your answer never changes what Morsel or Morsel Pro can do. You can change it at any time in Settings › Privacy & data. Turning it off deletes anything waiting to be sent and stops all future sending. Reset analytics ID on the same page clears unsent events and starts a new random ID. Morsel does not send an event connecting the old and new IDs.

PURCHASES

Morsel Pro is sold through Apple’s App Store, and Apple processes every payment. We use RevenueCat to confirm that Morsel Pro is active and to restore it on another iPhone. RevenueCat receives your App Store purchase records (the product, dates, any trial or offer, renewal and refund status, and the storefront country) together with a random purchases ID that RevenueCat creates for this install. This ID is separate from the analytics ID. RevenueCat is needed to provide Morsel Pro, so it works whatever you answer about analytics. We never receive your name, email address, Apple Account or payment card details from Apple or RevenueCat.

PHOTOS AND SHARING

If you choose to save a Morse card, Morsel asks for permission to add it to your Photos. It can only add images; it can’t see your library. When you share something with the share sheet, the app or person you choose receives it and handles it under their own terms.

WHY WE USE INFORMATION

  • To provide Morsel and the Morsel Pro you bought (performance of our agreement with you).
  • To improve the course with usage analytics, only on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by switching analytics off.
  • To answer you when you write to us, and to keep the service secure.

We never sell or rent information, use it for advertising, or combine it with data from other companies.

WHO PROCESSES DATA FOR US

  • Mixpanel, analytics, United States. Mixpanel’s privacy policy.
  • RevenueCat, purchase validation, United States. RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
  • Apple, App Store payments and distribution, under Apple’s privacy policy.
  • Vercel, hosting for this website. Vercel’s privacy policy.

Where information moves from the EU, EEA or UK to the United States, we rely on the safeguards these providers offer for international transfers, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

  • Active progress: until Reset progress or deletion of the app. Settings and local recovery copies remain until you change the settings or delete the app, respectively. Device backups are managed separately through Apple.
  • Analytics events: up to two years, then deleted, and sooner on request (within 30 days). Events waiting on your iPhone are deleted at once when you switch analytics off.
  • Purchase records: kept by Apple and RevenueCat while needed to provide and restore Morsel Pro, and as required by law.
  • Support email: as long as needed to help you and keep a record of the answer.

DELETING YOUR DATA

Because there is no account, the random IDs are how we find your data. In Settings › Privacy & data, your analytics ID is shown under Your data, and Ask us to delete it opens an email to support@morseltrainer.com with both random IDs already filled in: the analytics ID and the purchases ID RevenueCat uses. You can also write to us yourself and include them. Within 30 days we delete the analytics data linked to the analytics ID from Mixpanel and the purchase record linked to the purchases ID from RevenueCat, and confirm by reply.

Deleting the RevenueCat record doesn’t cancel a subscription or remove Apple’s own records, and Morsel Pro still works: Restore creates a new random record. Manage subscriptions in your iPhone’s Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.

Copy the ID before you reset it or delete the app. We need the old ID to find events sent before the reset.

YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@morseltrainer.com to use any of these rights; we may need the random ID to find your data. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. We don’t sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in California law.

CHILDREN

Morsel is not directed to children under 13. If a parent believes a child’s information was sent to us, they can write to us and we’ll delete it.

THIS WEBSITE

This website has no accounts, cookies, analytics or advertising, and its fonts are served from the site itself. Its practice keys run entirely in your browser: what you key is never sent anywhere. Your browser remembers two small settings on this device only, whether the site’s sound is on and whether you have opened the splash in this tab. Our host, Vercel, receives standard request information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver and protect the site.

CHANGES

If we change how Morsel handles information, we’ll update this page and its effective date, and explain material changes in the app where they affect you. Questions? See support or write to support@morseltrainer.com.
